The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sylvester Ezeokenwa, yesterday joined leaders of other political parties at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Third Quarterly Consultative Meeting.

The high-level meeting, held in the nation's capital, was ably chaired by the Acting Chairman of INEC, Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu, fostering a critical dialogue on the nation's electoral process.

During the pivotal session, Barrister Ezeokenwa took the opportunity to publicly commend the electoral body for its unwavering dedication to conducting credible and transparent elections in Nigeria.

The APGA National Chairman specifically highlighted INEC’s exemplary performance and operational efficiency during the recent August 16 Bye-Elections, noting it as a positive step in the ongoing efforts to strengthen electoral integrity.

Further extending his commendation, Barrister Ezeokenwa expressed profound satisfaction with the Commission's detailed preparations for upcoming electoral exercises. He cited the extensive groundwork for the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship Election, the plans for the 2026 Federal Capital Territory Area Council Elections, and the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise as particularly commendable and reassuring for all stakeholders in the democratic project.

The APGA Chairman conveyed his party’s steadfast confidence in INEC’s capacity to uphold the core principles of fairness, impartiality, and transparency as the nation approaches these significant electoral milestones. This vote of confidence underscores a belief in the Commission’s institutional readiness to manage complex electoral processes with the highest level of professionalism.

For the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Barrister Ezeokenwa reiterated the party's deep-seated commitment to fostering a political environment centered on issue-based campaigns. He emphasized that APGA’s political philosophy is rooted in engaging the electorate on substantive matters of governance, policy, and development, rather than divisive rhetoric.

Aligned with this commitment is APGA’s unwavering dedication to the democratic tenet of peaceful participation. The party leadership assured that its members and supporters would actively yet peacefully engage in the electoral process, respecting the rule of law and the rights of all citizens and competing political entities.

Barrister Ezeokenwa powerfully articulated the fundamental belief that credible elections are the indispensable foundation of good governance, national stability, and sustainable progress. He stressed that the legitimacy of any government is derived from the integrity of the process that brought it into power, making the sanctity of the ballot box a national imperative.

Therefore, the National Chairman declared that APGA’s dedication to partnering with INEC to promote and protect the sanctity of Nigeria's democratic process remains unshaken. This partnership, he noted, is crucial for building enduring public trust in the nation’s institutions and ensuring that the will of the people ultimately prevails.

The constructive engagement at the INEC consultative meeting signals a positive step towards inter-agency collaboration between the electoral umpire and political parties. It highlights a shared responsibility in working towards a common goal of deepening democracy in Nigeria.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance remains resolute in its mission to contribute meaningfully to the nation's political landscape, championing the values of democracy, good governance, and the overall progress of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
