The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, hosted two significant delegations at the party’s national secretariat, highlighting the party’s commitment to inclusive governance and democratic strengthening.

The day’s engagements commenced with a courtesy visit from the Executives of the Catch Them Young Community Initiative (CATYCOL) and the Youth Led Electoral Reform Project (YERP-Naija) Consortium.

The visit served as a physical advocacy meeting to discuss pivotal issues surrounding Nigeria’s democratic processes.

As a key advocate for electoral and constitutional reforms, Chief Ezeokenwa provided a valuable platform for the consortium to deliberate on critical issues. The discussions focused on constitutionality, election credibility thresholds, and enhancing popular participation in the nation’s democracy.

The National Chairman thoroughly reviewed the detailed Electoral Reform Project guidelines presented by the youth groups. He offered pragmatic insights and recommendations drawn from his unique dual experience as a legal practitioner and an active politician, providing a nuanced perspective on the proposed reforms.

Chief Ezeokenwa commended the team for their commendable efforts in championing these community-driven projects, which address fundamental challenges within the democratic system. He praised their dedication to fostering a more credible and transparent electoral environment.

Furthermore, the APGA Chairman used the opportunity to encourage all non-state actors across Nigeria who are leading initiatives that question and seek to strengthen the nation’s democratic credibility. He urged them to continue their vital work as essential partners in nation-building.

In a separate courtesy visit, Chief Ezeokenwa later received the Executives of the Ebonyi Town Union Association, who were led by their President-General, Mr. Moses Igwe. The delegation was primarily present to express profound gratitude for the remarkable work of the APGA Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR.

The delegation specifically highlighted the transformative impact of Governor Soludo’s administration in areas inhabited predominantly by the Ebonyi people. The ongoing redevelopment of the Okpoko slum into a modern settlement, now dubbed ‘Okpoko New Haven,’ was a focal point of their appreciation and discussion.

Chief Ezeokenwa emphasized that this development exemplifies how the Ebonyi people are embraced as one family under the inclusive and progressive leadership of Governor Soludo. He reaffirmed that an APGA government remains profoundly people-oriented, with policies meticulously designed to improve the ease of living and doing business for all residents.

Concluding the day’s events, the National Chairman stated that these engagements are a testament to APGA’s grassroots connectivity and its unwavering dedication to collaborative progress. He declared that with such people-focused leadership, Anambra State is truly on the rise.

Signed
